Momtaz Indian Lounge

Ate here last weekend in a group of 7. Service was slow. I ordered a chicken tikka saag that when it came out had developed a skin on top so goodness knows how long it had been sat on the pass. It was lukewarm to touch and the bowl was chipped. Hard to imagine a curry could be tasteless but it was. Orders came out haphazardly. It was clear there was only one person cooking. All the mains came out before any of the plates so food was sat going cold. The sundries we had ordered came out wrong so had to be sent back so that was even more waiting and when they arrived they weren't good. Crispy chappattis!! Others said their curries were alright tasted but everyone was disappointed bybthe general slow derive and state of the place. It looked very shabby and run down. The bathroom was disgusting. Nothing dry hands on. Loo top was cracked and the net curtain looked like It had never been washed. In general the place looked dirty and in desperate need of cleaning. I dread to think what the kitchen looked like. I won't be going back

I have dined at Islam's Indian restaurant several times throughout the year and have never been let down. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. I would definitely recommend it to others.

My friend and I decided to order takeout from your restaurant tonight through Just Eat. We were told it would take 20 minutes, but ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes on top of that. When we finally received our food, we were missing items from our order and the quality was subpar (the curries had limited meat and the naan was burnt). I never thought I would describe a curry as tasteless, but tonight was the night! I will not be returning to your restaurant. It was very disappointing, especially considering it was not busy and there was no excuse for the delay or the poor quality of the food.

Despite its unassuming exterior, the inside of this restaurant exudes a cozy ambiance. The food was prepared promptly and was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend trying the pistachio ice cream as it was outstanding!

We have had numerous takeaways from here and the food is just out of this world. Islam the owner is just the best at overseeing the staff and we cannot fault the quality, freshness and taste of any dishes we have ordered. Highly recommended. We also had takeaway food when Islam had the restaurant at The Lairds Inn and again had most enjoyable food.
