The pork bone soup was incredibly delicious, served in a generous portion with thick broth and tender pork that practically fell off the bone. The spicy cold chewy noodles were wonderfully tangy and refreshing—absolutely delightful! The bibimbap was also a large serving, enough for me to make two meals out of it. The restaurant was very clean and well-organized; it seems like they may have changed chefs or managers because there’s been a significant improvement compared to the last few years. I will definitely be returning!
I ordered and enjoyed mixed dumplings, jjolmyeon, kimchi stew, a bulgogi rice bowl, and tteokbokki, and everything was absolutely delicious. There's just something special about enjoying Korean food that reminds us of home, especially while traveling abroad. If you're in Dunedin and craving Korean cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit!
Wow, just wow! These guys are amazing! In my opinion, they are the most welcoming hosts of any restaurant in Dunedin. The food is truly as fantastic as everyone claims. I highly recommend stopping by. Thanks, Derek!
A fabulous home style Korean menu. The flavours were deep and rich. We had the Kimchi Jigae, Mandu, Bulgogi hot pot, Kimchi fried rice and my boy had the squid and pork Dopbap. It's a bare bones eatery, but the food speaks volumes. My only criticism would be it needs more variety in banchan. (you do get three with each meal, just they always seem to be the same) We've been there three times only, but each time it has been delicious and is well worth your patronage. Regards Richard.
Seoul's the way to go for a good Korean meal, at least, that's the impression I get every time when my friends go! I've tried their No. 16 spicy stir fried pork on rice, which was yum, spicy and tasty but I wasn't really wowed by it, and a little more on the dryer side. However, I got the No. 39 pork sizzling plate today, and my impression was so much better, it was beautifully presented and glossy, the pork and veg proportion was perfect, and the taste was yummy (but I reckon I can make my own just as well with the unimart bugolgi sauce! The pork pieces were perfect though, just the right amount of fatty and lean cut thinly, and the sauce a delicious tangy mildly spicy marinade. We also got sides, a neat range of bean sprouts, kimchi, boiled egg, and fish cake, good variety but I wonder what would be presented if I was just dining alone? I also tried the beef sizzling plate, which had a good slightly sweet flavor and a tender enough beef, however I definitely rate the spicy pork much better, it's way up my alley. Not a bad choice for a lunch time meal, keen to try more!
