Higher Grounds At 32 Main - East Haddam

Food was incredible and the experience was excellent. Had a good time chatting with Chris and really enjoyed my meal. Highly recommend the corned beef hash. Was lucky enough to get a slice of the cherry coffee cake fresh out of the oven.

Stayed in town this past weekend and had breakfast here every morning!!! Coffee was fantastic. Food was phenomenal and service was exceptional. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I sure am going to miss their coffee come tomorrow morning, that is for sure. We will be back next year! Thanks so much for a friendly and cozy weekend!

Great little place with low key atmosphere. Food is slow but worth the wait. Chris makes an amazing cup of coffee, McKennas’ pastries are delicious, and the chef makes a mean Eggs Benedict.

The worst breakfast food I’ve ever had. Dry, tasteless, unseasoned. Higher Grounds is at best, a less than mediocre coffee shop masquerading as a premium culinary experience. The only thing “higher”, or premium at Higher Grounds are its higher prices which are vastly disjointed from the quality of the food and coffee.
