I spoke with Chloe who was so kind, she offered advice and helped me organise our time at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and although it was a small intimate dinner she made me feel so special. From the moment we arrived our day was made absolutely perfect. the red carpet and the beautiful private room, the staff we’re waiting for us and we were greeted with Prosecco, All the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely amazing, everyone enjoyed their meal. Our compliments to your wonderful chef. We had photos taken on the stairs and the band stand. We can’t thank everyone enough for making our day as special as if we had been having a huge wedding there. A memory to treasure forever. Thank you to everyone Mr and Mrs Stephenson
I went here for a family wedding and I really do love it. I don’t understand the bad reviews if I’m honest, it’s a very beautiful hotel and the food is gorgeous. I have also been here previously to try out the restaurant and although quite empty, the food was still fresh and hot. The staff there are lovely too. (The pictures are of the three course meal served at the wedding.
Quick lunch with family. When we arrived the receptionist advised that we go through to the restaurant and we would be met there and assigned a table. Well, no-one was there, as the one poor sole assistant was running the whole show on her own and was behind the bar. Nevertheless, we smiled and found a table. There was a group of a dozen golfers to our left and this lady had to deal with them for drinks and food orders first. She was very apologetic but it was still another twenty minutes before she came to our table, and that was only for drinks. Another fifteen minutes later she served drinks and took the food order. Two of us opted for the Club Sandwich with a side order of chips, and the two ladies took advantage of the tapas option, with four small dishes for £20. But there were the golfers to be served first. Finally, an hour and a quarter after we sat down, we got our order. The tapas dishes were average, the meatballs being dry and tasteless. Only the tempura prawns were decent, and it was clear that they had gone from freezer to fryer in short order. And then we came to the Club Sandwiches, supposedly a delicious medley of breast of chicken, crispy bacon and salad. Only the chicken was as dry as the Gobi desert, so much so that I put it in a napkin and let my dogs chew on it later. As for the crispy bacon...well they just neglected to include it altogether. When I pointed this out, it the bacon was eventually received separately, on a plate, when the meal was almost finished. The fries were dry and bland, as if they had been cooked this morning and put in the oven prior to serving. And finally, the bill was delivered, without the promised tapas deal, so we had to wait again whilst they sorted out what had gone wrong. Not good enough...not nearly good enough. This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, and I would have got better food in a greasy spoon on the A46.
I took my daughter for her 40th birthday treat. My daughter had a body massage and i had a facial. We both agreed the treatment was fantastic and we would do it again. We also booked afternoon tea with prossecco, this was very disappointing,as they do not ask what type of sandwich we would like,we had a cheese sandwich each and left the tuna and the cucumber, the scones were not actually scones they were ROCK CAKES and the other cakes were so dry we could not eat them, service was not to good as we had to ask them to bring the tea.afternoon tea was a total waste of money, could have got better at a local pub. bit of a let down as your only 40 once,
I was blown away by the overnight spa package at this restaurant. The package includes access to the pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms, and ice room, followed by a delightful afternoon tea. I treated myself to a hot stone massage from the incredible Sam, who I highly recommend asking for. After unwinding in our hotel room, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at 7:30pm - I had a perfectly cooked steak while my sister enjoyed the fish and chips. The next morning, we indulged in the buffet style breakfast at 9am. The food was hot and delicious, and the staff made sure everyone was well taken care of. I can't wait to come back again!
