Nigel, the owner, is an excellent and friendly host who is accompanied by friendly, polite and helpful staff. The pub itself is a great little place that serves well kept real ales.

Probably the best beer in Louth. Certainly with Harvest Pale, the best blonde beer in Louth. My dearest doesn't normally care for fish and chips, but Nigel's light and crisp batter suit her no end. For special nights we have used the restaurant. Fish still good and good steak as well.

This is usually quite a busy place to go and its understandable.... Six of us went for a meal, four of us had steak, one fish and chips and one a vegetable lasagne, the result was six empty plates, my husband had the fish and chips and the size of the fish was amazing, all six meals freshly cooked, waitress service very friendly and quick, quality, quantity and value for money, I'm sure it won't be long till we all go again.

We regularly visit 'the brown cow ' as it is our local, however I think we would regardless. There is always a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We have eaten there several times and never once been disappointed. Great food and great beer at a good price. Definitely recommended.
