R-time At Rene's - East McKeesport

Phenomenal fish sandwiches. Best anywhere in the country. Some claim to be the biggest, some claim to be the best. Rene's is both!!!

Great place, Great food, Great prices, efficient and friendly staff. Always a great place to have a meal. I tried to have lunch there yesterday and after checking the opening time on the website was greeted by a paper notice hanging on the door of thesummer hours. opening at 3pm instead of 11am. If you have a website ,that should have been updated as well. A paper noticehanging on your door, isn't the best way to keep your patrons up to date.

The Alfredo sauce was delicious, and the waitress was fantastic. However, the restaurant seems to be declining. I've been a patron for over 20 years, and I've noticed that the booths are worn out and the overall quality appears to be slipping. I'll continue to visit because I appreciate family-owned businesses, but they really need to improve things.

I wish I could have dined at this restaurant. A friend recommended the fish, so I drove nearly an hour to get there, only to find out they were closed for the week. I even checked their Facebook page and website beforehand to confirm their hours, and there was no indication that they were closed. It felt like a waste of time and gas to arrive only to find them shut.

For the past 25 years, as we've traveled and lived across Europe and the U.S. while maintaining a permanent base in Allegheny County, we have consistently been loyal patrons of Rene's. The authentic quality of their food—simple yet high-quality and reasonably priced—combined with the friendly and welcoming staff, has kept us coming back time and time again.
