Trumpets on the Bay - EASTPORT

Wait what?! I never reviewed Trumpets after my mom's birthday lunch?! How shameful of me!!! Also didn't realize it was sitting in my drafts for so long.

They somehow combine casual with elegant and sophisticated to create a perfect waterfront spot to enjoy the beauty of LI with great food.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local businesswomenMy wife and I were glad we stopped in for lunch.

Wings was raw and ****, ribs was all fat and service was terrible.

We were three adults with two (nicely dressed and well mannered) kids at 5 in the evening on a Sunday. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and the rude hostess shoved us at a tall bar table in between a service station and the kitchen door. After asking someone other than the hostess were moved to a regular table. The waitstaff was either overwhelmed or just terribly trained. Service took forever, orders were wrong, and the music was unnecessarily loud. BBQ brisket tasted like it was pounded with a mallet and soaked in liquid smoke. The one good thing I can say about this place is that the onion rings were incredible.
