Grants Of Castlegate Wine Bar - Eden

We visited on a Thursday evening in February and I was surprised to find the restaurant very quiet given the strength of reviews. Chatting to the proprietor, it had been quite busy earlier in the week and was fully booked at the weekend so I think we were an anomaly and I'd still recommend booking. The menu has a good range of interesting sounding dishes and we went for all three courses. The food was delicious just a really good example of quality ingredients, cooked well. Portions sizes were just right so that you felt pleasantly sated but not overfull by the end. The owner/front of house was lovely, striking a nice balance of being friendly but also leaving us to enjoy our food in peace. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would happily go back next time we were in the area.

The choice of food was excellent, the taste was equally as good. Served in good time and I cleared the plate. Delicious. Will definitely be back.

I recently booked the advertised pie night for 9 ladys. The service staff were spot on We all decided to do the pies, just amazing plenty of well prepared and presented food. All the lady’s were well impressed. Very special place to eat.

Visited for the first time. An excellent meal, great service and a lovely atmosphere. The lamb hotpot starter was so nice. Steak cooked to perfection, halibut had so much flavour. A lovely lemon meringue pie for dessert. Will definitely be back.

Lovely food and efficient, friendly staff. We had a trio of fish to start, followed by fillet steak and monk fish. We had dark chocolate crème brûlée for desert which was amazing.
