There were many options to choose from on the menu. We started with a side of fries and a series of potstickers that disappeared quickly – the kids especially loved the fries. I decided to try the shrimp tacos, not realizing that they were served on lettuce leaves instead of tortillas. Although a bit difficult to handle, the tacos were tasty and surprisingly lighter than expected. The kids also enjoyed their pizza, and my wife ordered what I believe was a poke bowl with tuna, which she highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit!
I have dined at this restaurant multiple times in the past and always enjoyed the delicious food. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. The Seabass sliders, which I usually love for their miso glaze and Shiitake mushrooms, were served without these toppings. The Seabass entrée also did not come with the usual fried rice, only bok choy. The prices have increased despite receiving less food on the plate. My husband's steak did not come with green beans as it usually does and they were available as an expensive add-on. Overall, this experience was very unsatisfactory and I cannot recommend dining here anymore.
Kona has always been a top choice for us, but our recent visit had some issues. Firstly, our reservation was for outdoor seating but we were seated indoors. Secondly, despite it not being very busy, the service was slow. Lastly, the food did not meet our expectations. The brunch sandwich was missing an egg and the chicken on the salad was overcooked and tough. We understand that the restaurant industry has faced many challenges during the pandemic and beyond, and we appreciate the hard work of the staff. We are providing this feedback in the hopes of being helpful.
Our Medium well steak was Rare, the chicken was dry, and our order was mixed up. Honestly the food was better here a year ago. I feel bad, maybe they were understaffed.
âPrime ribâ was terrible. Seemed like it was yesterdayâs steak recooked. Definitely NOT prime rib sliced off. Not even sure it was ribeye. Three guests, two had prime rib and one had a prime rib sandwich, side of green beans, and one drink, one coffee, water, tip $170 for the worst steak we all have ever had. Have been here a number of times but wonât be back.
