Írjon visszajelzéstThe Détente restaurant was one of the places recommended by the Inn where we lived. While walking in the city, we found this restaurant hidden on a quiet street, Winter St. We have made reservations for this night. The interior and exterior seats are available. For those who wanted to eat outdoors, they had a canopy / canvas lining to keep the rain out, as the weather was a little included the week we visited the island. We chose the interior. Numerous wine options, only 4 drinks cocktails and various beer options are available. We had a scallop appetizer, followed by the main meal, Pork Chop for my husband and Crusted Cod fish for me. Both were excellent and the flavors, spices and sauces were excellent. That was one of the only restaurants on this island that served coffee my husband appreciated. For dessert we shared the chocolate tortoise with cherries and ice cream. Servers wore all masks. Excellent service of Miona. Nice quiet restaurant. Recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely amazing restaurant! First off the service is the absolute best. We came here this past Tues for dinner. We had made a reservation online for indoor seating. Unfortunately there was a wait and we had to wait about 1hr to get a table. The hostess was very apologetic in having us wait but made us comfortable at the bar being it was a very chilly night. At the bar, the gentleman working was very nice. He had great recommendations for food and drinks and was over all very friendly. When we did get our table our food came pretty quickly. For starters we ordered the pork bolognese as well as the Spanish octopus. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted great. You won't be disappointed. For dinner we had the roasted halibut as well as the lamb rack. Again nothing short of amazing. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was so tender. Our server also threw in 2 additional sides because of the long wait time which we greatly appreciated. The service here is outstanding and they do care greatly for their patrons. Be sure to check them out if you are out in martha's vineyard!
Absolutely phenomenal. The server was hilarious, and just a pleasure to be around. The maitre d' was incredibly helpful with wine selections. Every dish was mouth watering. I didn't know you could make monkfish taste other worldly! Long, luxurious dinner never felt rushed or like we were being a nuisance even though we asked all the questions. A must stop for dinner. Trip Advisor says #1 in Edgartown ... I'd venture to say it's #1 on the island. Chef owned, and it shows!
The service was impeccable. The food was disappointing. They serve bread with flavorless oil that did nothing for the bread. I ordered the pork which had a beautiful sear but was tough and difficult to cut and chew. The fennel risotto had no fennel flavor, just the tallegio and there were very hard chunks of something like a root vegetable?! In general the flavors were incompatible. And the brown butter cake was delicious but the fruit was tossed with citrus (assuming grapefruit which I can’t stand) so I left the beautiful fruit on the plate. My husband truly enjoyed the perfectly cooked sea bass and farro and I agree, were delicious! He also enjoyed the blueberry buttermilk bread pudding. I tasted it but did not enjoy. Definitely different flavor profiles all over that unfortunately, will not bring me back.
