Írjon visszajelzéstMy husband I were in Edinburgh for a long weekend to see our daughter perform at the Fringe. It was also my birthday on the Saturday that we arrived so I booked a restaurant well in advance as knew it would be q busy time. I picked La Garrigue due to seeing other reviews. We met our daughter there had the most wonderful time. We were warmly greeted, seated quickly. We had cocktails beer whilst perusing the menu. My husband had a Casserole with duck, sausages beans, I had seafood skewer with jasmine rice our daughter had seabass. We all had dessert taste tasting, lavender creme brushed scottish strawberry tart. The food was outstanding. So delicious, well presented good portion sizes. We had wine too. They offered a good selection of wines. A really great first evening in Edinburgh to celebrate my Birthday.
This is always the first restaurant we to for dinner on our visit to Edinburgh for the fringe festival. Three years in a row now and it never disappointed us. Excellent as always.
We popped in for lunch prior to Springsteen concert at Murray field. Lovely setting just off the Royal mile overlooking the new town. We went for the set lunch menu with the pigeon to share and a creme brulee for dessert. Faultless service and food. Thank you
Food and staff very good! Was there in 2018 and was glad I went back in 2023. Warm and friendly atmosphere, not the usual hustle and bushel
First impressions were great and service highly attentive. Partner had King Scallops which she declared gorgeous (albeit a very small portion) and I had the fish soup, which was good but lacked seasoning. We both had Cassolette for our main course. This was good, especially the confit duck and pork belly parts, although again lacking seasoning. We then shared a lovely cheese board. I was going to score this 4 Stars, but when I asked for the bill we were offered a digestif, which we declined, but the waiter was pretty insistent, and this insistence made it seem as if this was being offered on the house. When the bill came these were charged at £7.75 each. It just left us feeling uncomfortable paying £15 for something we really didn 't want! I understand up-selling (I 'm in sales myself), but this is what gives selling a bad name. Maybe we should have complained at the time, but it would have caused a bad atmosphere in an intimate restaurant.
