Girardi's Osteria - Edmonds

Excellent outside patio dining when the weather is right. When it is not, there's a cozy fire inside.

I've lived in Edmonds for 12 years and have relied on this restaurant as a special occasion place. Unfortunately, the last few times I've been there the quality of the food was not good. I ordered the squash ravioli is butter and my food was swimming in butter. The sauce should complement not Fran the flavor of the food. My friend order the halbut which came fried. I hope they improve; I love the location.

My only suggestion regards seating. If you have the perfect weather and can sit outside, do so. However, I would suggest not sitting in the enclosed outdoor seating separated from the open air. Hot and lack of ambiance.

Good basic Italian fare. I had ling cod which was served over fettuccine Alfredo, the pasta serving was huge, all was reasonably priced. It was good, but I wouldn 't call it outstanding .

We were on time for our reservation, but waited almost 20 minutes for someone to come ask if we had been helped yet. I don't know if the restaurant was having an off night or what, but with the exception of the lady who eventually came to our table (she nicely did not charge me for a glass of wine since we had to wait so long), not one of the staff in the dining room ever smiled. They all looked like they'd been given bad news or something. Perhaps they had. My husband enjoyed his ravioli, but my penne with chicken and mango was not hot, the sauce was very runny and there were only four little squares of mango. (I've had this menu item several times before and always been very pleased with it. Not this time).
