Earls - Edmonton

Good location specially for university students. They can just walk there. We like the food here. Clean and friendly staff

I work on campus and like to come here for lunch. Unfortunately it's difficult to get food quickly enough to fit into an hour lunch. The food is tasty enough and the service is pleasant. I don't recommend the patio during the day as it is nextvyo a busy intersection.

Stopped here to eat and watch the Oilers and Ducks play game 4 of the NHL play-offs. I asked for a recommendation as this was my first visit to this restaurant. My server-Simon gave me his 3 favorites choices. I decided to go with the Santa Fe Chicken Salad--with blackened chicken, feta, avocado, black beans, dates, lettuce--all in a peanut lime vinaigrette. This was a large serving and i enjoyed each and every bite. Very helathy option to the cheeseburger I thought about having. Enjoyed a Long Island Ice Tea for my drink. Simon provided excellent service and even a couple of other servers stopped to ensure all was good. Great atmosphere; clean restaurant; washrooms were very clean. Excellent dining experience.

Ok. I've been here before. Long time ago (2-3 years.) Beautiful decor. Today, after a long absence (usually go to the Tin nowadays - those of you Earl's fans will know what I'm referring to,) I thought I'd pop in for a late(r) bite and a pint. I was seated and after about five minutes waiting, a server comes with a water and asks if I'd like a beer. I order a Red Racer and wait. And wait. And wait. The problem is that I could understand if they were slammed. But the place was 1/4 full (on a Friday night. Hmm.) After waiting 15 mn without anyone coming by (although another server actually sat a a table with her pals and gossiped for about ten of the mn I was waiting,) I just gave up and left. This school is my alma mater: if this is the future...Most disappointing from a corporate chain that takes pride in its presentation and service. BTW: This is definitely not a indictment on the Earl's chain, just this particular one. Downtown Earl's Tin Palace rocks and I'd heartily recommend a visit.
