El Cortez Tequila Bar and Kitchen

El Cortez was soooo freaking good. Service was amazing. Atmosphere needs work. Music is too loud, tables are gross and sticky and we found glass shards on the table too mid meal... Very hazardous. However, the food might just be worth it. Their fish tacos and grilled shrimp tacos were mouth watering. Best fish tacos I've had in the city so far. Omg a MUST TRY is their mango wings. I promise, you will not regret it. I dream about those wings daily. And to top it off the churros were fantastic. I've had better, but on the rating system of 5 stars I'd give it a 3.5. Drinks were pleasing to the eye. If you're getting a margarita just know they are slightly sour. But delicious non the less.

Food was Great, with decent prices. Drinks were amazing, yet quite overpriced. Best Tacos Ive ever had. Ambiance… Speaker pumping out stuff with the treble at +15 directly over our table left must to be desired. And our waitress looked like she hated life. Still a decent place though.

Visited this place on a Sunday evening and the place was almost empty. However, it took the hostess 10 minutes to attend us. Poor service is an understatement, the water bottle and glasses served were dirty. The server seemed least interested in her work. We ordered Grilled Shrimp Tacos and Street Corn. The tacos were dry, had no seasoning, were missing the grilled pineapple, and the coleslaw lacked flavor. The Street Corn tasted good with queso and the valentina glaze. It had the right proportion of sweet and sour flavor. The decor of the place is cartalized to emphasize the Mexican cartel theme, which looks and feels authentic. I had high hopes with this establishment but was let down, wish they improve their food quality.

Chicken enchiladas were amazing! I’ve also had the shrimp tacos and chicken tacos on taco Tuesday if you buy a drink you get 1/2 prices tacos great deal! The drinks are on point. Never have to wait long to be seated and the staff are friendly and quick to take your order. They have a DJ there on some nights really great atmosphere. Foods priced reasonably. My only complaint would be that they need to shut the second set of doors now that it’s cold out wind blasts in. Besides that I’d say go and !!!

First visit to El Cortez. We had the dip trio to start. It was good, but the menu said it had guacamole with it, and the waitress said that was wrong. So no guacamole. My wife had the brisket tacos. They were delicious. I had the pork enchiladas. It was good but maybe had almost too many flavors going on. We had the churros for dessert, very tasty. Besides missing the guacamole, the service was excellent. We'd definitely go again.
