Urban China - Edmonton

Anyone who is familiar with the dim sum dishes served in Chinese restaurants across the country will not be disappointed with those on offer at Urban China. A limited amount of free parking is available and there is a parking lot adjacent to the property that charges.

Good food,the appetizers are a better choice than the main courses ,choose from a big variety of dumplings and noodles dishes but don't bother with the western style ginger beef or sweet and sour..

Nice variety traditional Chinese food.. dim sum available all day with the favorites Bit pricey but worth it!

Arrived at 1145 and still had parking available which is convenient being so close to downtown. Hostess was super pleasant and has us seated quickly. Dim sum carts arrived within seconds and just kept coming. Had a quick assortment of har gow, pork buns and dumplings, custard tarts, and other shrimp yumness. Except for the pork dumplings everything was hot and fresh and fast. The pork jao tse could have been hotter but still had flavour. Overall the dim sum was good, fast and priced reasonable. Would go back.

This was probably the most authentic Chinese meal we’ve ever had here in Edmonton. I wish we had tried this place years ago now since it was by far one of the best! We ordered the Chongqing style beef and the garlic chili chicken with eggplant. The Chongqing beef reminded us of a restaurant we ate in Shanghai and was absolutely terrific. The beef was so tasty and the sauce amazing. It’s an incredibly spicy dish which had the same level of heat as in China. Normally it’s quite tone down here but Urban China gives you the authentic level of spice. The garlic chicken and eggplant was also a traditional dish which was again delicious. I don’t normally like eggplant but in this dish its deep fried and tasted amazing. This was also a spicy dish and the flavours were just great. The restaurant has free parking for up to 3 hours and you must register your license plate when you come in. Overall we really enjoyed their food and we will for sure be back and try different dishes.
