Govinda - Eger

The restaurant was quite busy during my visit, and it features around 10 tables for indoor seating. The restrooms are located within the building but outside the dining area. They offer free water, which is available on the table—just grab a cup. There are various menu options available, but I simply asked the staff about their vegan choices. They spoke basic English and inquired if I wanted soup and/or dessert as well. I ended up paying a total of 2960 forints, which I found to be very reasonable given the generous portions of food. Everything was delicious, especially the dessert that resembled tiramisu; it turned out to be fantastic!

This is a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Eger. I've had dinner there several times, and each meal has been delicious. The staff is friendly and always eager to assist. I highly recommend it!

This is definitely a place I would return to. The portions are enormous — so much so that the staff advised me to order the second-largest size, and I’m really glad they did. For a reasonable price, I received a plate that was nearly the size of a small table, and everything was incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is lovely, complete with a terrace. It’s always bustling with customers. If I ever find myself back in Eger, this will be my first stop!

I've been eating at and getting take aways from Govinda's ever since it first opened it's doors in 1997. Govinda's is basically the one and only veggie (and vegan) restaurant not only in Eger, but the north-eastern region of Hungary. Delicious food, great prices, highly recommend it!
