Golden Phoenix - El Campo

This restaurant is a great place to dine. The food is consistently fantastic and the service is excellent.

While this may be the only Chinese restaurant in El Campo, the food is delicious. They offer a separate menu for Chinese dishes as well as a large buffet with a wide variety of options to choose from.

I went to this restaurant recently, and I am very displeased. For starters, one of the waiters couldn’t wear their mask properly. I know it may not be a big deal, but with Covid and Omicron, I’d like for my family and I to be safe. The same waiter was very pushy and only drove us towards the more expensive dishes. My family was open to the recommendations despite knowing that it was more of a money grab. Additionally, the same waiter didn’t check in with us at all and was practically ignoring us. The food was…okay… I’ve been to better Chinese restaurants who serve better food. In all honesty, Panda Express could get a way better rating from me than Golden Phoenix. If you ever want good traditional Chinese food, you have to go to some type of Chinatown or family business. 80% of modern restaurants that are westernized give you a bad taste of Chinese cuisine.

This restaurant was not worth $13 in my opinion, as the quality was mediocre at best. The waitress, as well as the other staff and owners, were great. However, the pricing seemed inflated and unreasonable.

The lady who owns it is the sweetest, friendly person. if they want to be reminded of how customer service was earlier, this is the place very clean, and there is a great selection of food and dessert. great for the family and reasonable price.
