Grumpy Goat Tavern - Elgin

What a delight! This place is fabulous! Our server was great at offering substitutions and the food was out of this world!!! Pricey, but this was a special celebration. We both had bone in ribeye and they were cooked to perfection! The potatoes andcreamed spinach had a wonderful flavor. The music was also great, loud enough to enjoy but not too loud we had to shout. Theonly negative was the hostess. She had no personality and didn't have our best interest in mind. The place was fairly empty andshe started to take us to a table with a beautiful view of the golf course and away from the only few full tables, but at thelast second she diverted and sat us over in a dark area without a window view right next to 2 tables full of loud people. Wethought maybe she changed her mind because she needed to keep all the patrons in 1 area, but 5 minutes later she sat someone atthat very table. We wish we had said something right away but assumed it was logistical. She needs some coaching on how to makethe experience outstanding from the start.

Great food and atmosphere. Nice view of course. The menu options range from delicious appetizers to fine cuts. It is a great and comfortable place. Lots of parking, too.

I love this place! The first time there and we were the only ones in the place that is a shame because it is wonderful! We sat next to a stone fireplace that roaring all the time when we were there to create physical warmth and warmth of the atmosphere. There was live music for just us to enjoy. An excellent guitarist and singer. Created a wonderful ambience. The food was also delicious! I wouldn't have asked for a nice evening.

Anna served us and was very friendly and friendly. The food was delicious. Great mood for dinner. Very recommended

I was with a group of my golf friends tonight, where we were immediately greeted by our server Nicole. We had heard a conversation between her and the bartender (the reaction was pricless about a review she had received). We all fed, ordered a few appetizers, several drinks. The food was great, Nicole was quick with refills, a little bit and laughed. Every time we thought (only 1 more) came another round. I had to go early as the group I was with ordered another round. I enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, The contagious smile Nicole brought to the table, and honestly most of the relationship between the bartender and Nicole. I believe it is safe to assume that all Grumpy Goat Tavern employees have the same relationship and I look forward to coming back.
