Their coleslaw is excellent, offering a delightful balance of sweet and crunchy goodness, and the okra is fantastic! Be sure to wrap up your meal with their banana pudding—you won't regret it. The service is quick, so if you're in search of a speedy dining experience, definitely check them out!
I'm a big fan of both locations. Because the food is so consistent. It's always Carolina style. I usually get the pulled chicken sandwich with slaw on top. If I get a platter, I always get the baked beans, add hushpuppies and the mac-n-cheese is pretty good. I will mention that the location in Elizabeth City has significantly lower prices on the same items compared to the other location. Recently finding this out, I'll refrain from eating here until I make a trip over to the Elizabeth City location. As a local in the obx, I'm not suited to pay tourist prices year round. Other than that, it's good BBQ and sides.
Great food . Bbq is the best around . The sides are all good . Great coleslaw and the best blackberry cobbler.
The barbecue sandwich on Tuesday is two dollars but not worth it. The bottom bun was completely soaked, the barbecue had no flavoring or spices, and there was maybe a teaspoon of slaw!
I’d like to begin by stating that the ribs I ordered were exceptional—tender and packed with flavor. However, the sides didn’t quite meet my expectations. The fried okra was overcooked, the mac and cheese was just average, and the sweet potato casserole was overly spiced to the point of being inedible. As a former resident of North Carolina visiting from Pittsburgh, I was eager to indulge in some authentic Southern cuisine. Unfortunately, this experience only partially met my hopes. I left feeling quite disappointed with the side dishes.
