Fairbairn Bakery on Clermont - Emerald

Fantastic bakery! We've been on a quest to find the best pies in Queensland for the past week, and this place was definitely one of the top contenders. Based on a recommendation, I tried the corned beef and white sauce pie and it did not disappoint - I would rate it an 8 out of 10. The others in my group tried the breakfast pies and also rated them highly, ranging from 7 to 8 out of 10. Delicious!

We stopped by for lunch and were pleased with the variety of pies, cakes, and slices available. I tried the pasty and found it to be absolutely delightful, while my wife enjoyed the potato pie. The temperature of the pies was perfect, the pastry was excellent (and I am very particular about pastry), and the flavor and texture were great. Although there was bread on the shelves, we were focused on our lunch. The service was friendly and chatty, yet efficient. We could choose to eat inside or outside, and we opted for a hot chocolate and coffee, both of which were among the best I've had. Our drinks were brought to our table outside. Overall, it was a great place to visit, with delicious food and excellent service. I highly recommend stopping by to try the food and drinks. I give it a 9 out of 10.

I visit Fairbairn Bakery somewhat regularly on my way through Emerald, and am usually pretty happy. My visit on July 4th this year resulted in the best, tastiest chai latte I’ve ever had in my life! On one or two occasions in 2021 I’ve dealt with an unkind staff member who made me feel very unwelcome, but all my visits in 2022 have been great experiences! A bakery with a drive through… what more could you want?

Delicious cakes and coffee at Bast...I enjoyed the new drive-through setup. The restaurant is spacious and clean, with a variety of tasty baked goods available.
