Dad's - Empire

Husband and I stopped in to eat dinner was looking forward to the seafood platter with fish, shrimp and oysters. Husband didn’t want oysters so he substituted for extra fish and shrimp per waitress. When the waiter brought the meal, she said, each one down in front of us Asked if we needed any condiments I said tartar, sauce, and cocktail sauce. She said we’re out of cocktail sauce. as I was looking at my meal, I noticed I had about nine shrimp, three pieces of fish and no oysters, toast instead of hush puppies. Husband had two pieces of fish six shrimp. He went to the counter and asked the waitress where the oysters were and she said oh we are out of oysters, that’s why we gave her extra Shrimp. She never bothered to let us know ahead of time they were out of oysters cocktail sauce, Or gave us the option to place a different order. She never offered to discount our meal either. My purpose for getting a seafood platter is to eat the oysters. I can fry fish and shrimp at my home. So for two fish and shrimp platters it was approximately $68. Then they set they’re a little Computer for certain amount of tip with no way to change it so grand total was $75 almost $76. Felt very cheated! Won’t ever go back there to eat!

I was heading home after stopping at a few places and I was getting hangry. I do love to go off the beaten path for meals when I can. Walking in from the bright sun, I had to let my eyes adjust for a moment. I was promptly greeted, told to sit anywhere and given a menu. I got the shrimp platter and I think the shrimp was so fresh it hit on me! It was great! Reasonable prices, fast service. I would recommend to anyone in the area!

Nice little hole in the wall place. If you blink you'll pass it. Probably some of the kindest people you'll ever meet. Ordered a cheese burger with a side of onion rings! Really good burger but the onion rings were the best! Some of the best onion rings I've ever had! Will be back Kid-friendliness: Kids cartoons were on TV while I was there!

I liked the food. The food was tasty. At least what I had. Unfortunately service is kinda slow n bad. Sad that the owner who is an older lady has a bad attitude n waitress. Not only that, they talk bad about people whom they serve. Can't ask for nothing cause right away they make a face or get an attitude. If the phone rings, they get an attitude. Sad because it could be a cozy lil restraunt.

My family and I are new to the area. We are here for the children's hospital in New orleans and I work at Port sulpher. We have been hanging fliers up around the area to raise awareness and hopefully get donations as his medical bills are getting very high, and he still has two or so more heart surgeries to get through. He has already have 2 open heat surgeries in less than 2 months of his life. This establishment rudly declined to have a flier up and hung up. Was very rude and unwelcoming, so I won't be bringing my family or clients up to this establishment. We will go else where or travel further for probably better food. People should be more kind in such a harsh world. Truly a disappointment.
