Ye Olde Kings Head - Epsom and Ewell

We celebrated my partner's birthday at this restaurant with a party of 12. I wanted to split the bill as if we were two separate tables because we were seated on long tables with six people on each side, which made it difficult for our two groups to interact. Despite my request to split the bill due to one end ordering tapas and the other end ordering from the main menu (which had no vegetarian options), the staff refused, citing confusion for the kitchen. This led to a member of our party shouting at me and created tension for the rest of the evening. The soup was delicious, but unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing.

We recently visited this restaurant for a Sunday roast and I was pleasantly surprised by the high standard of refurbishment since my last visit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. I felt relaxed immediately. The lamb roast was excellent, and I highly recommend it. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning soon.
