Írjon visszajelzéstAfter purchasing a Groupon deal based on the enticing advertisement, we were disappointed with the reality of our meal. The portions were much smaller than expected, with only three finger sandwiches and a small cheese straw provided. There were no pork pies or sausage rolls as advertised. We were also disappointed to find that we had to share a packet of crisps between us. The scones were enjoyable, but the cakes were lacking. The cherry slice had a very runny icing and the miniature fairy cake was topped with hundreds and thousands. Overall, the experience did not live up to the expectations set by the photos on Groupon. Don't be fooled by the images!
I visited here with a friend for afternoon tea. I’d heard about Carriages but never been in. I loved the decor and all the vintage stuff especially the tea cups and saucers. The afternoon tea was lovely fresh sandwiches, a small piece of quiche, a cheese straw and a savory scone to start and then sweet scone, cupcake and Victoria sponge for after! We managed almost all of it but for those with a smaller appetite you can take your leftovers home for later. Everything was beautiful, I’d definitely return. I have added photos but we’d already tucked in before I remembered to take one!
I recently visited this tea room, which I have frequented many times before, and was excited for our usual choice of afternoon tea. However, upon opening the menu, we noticed that the prices had increased significantly. Despite this, I decided to order the afternoon tea, hoping for the usual excellent offerings, including delicious scones. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, we were disappointed to find a subpar selection that seemed like leftover items thrown together at half the usual quantity. The scones were nowhere to be seen, replaced by a small, stale plain scone. We received only three small finger sandwiches, a stale piece of pizza, a few cheap crisps, a tiny pot of mints, and a slice of cake so thin it was almost transparent. I was left feeling let down, as I had previously received generous portions for a lower price. It seems the tea room is running a Groupon offer, which is great, but reducing portion sizes and neglecting regular customers is not the way to go. Unfortunately, I will not be returning after this experience. It's a shame!
Had a truly delicious afternoon tea, with the best melt in the mouth scones, I have ever tasted. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. A must visit for anyone visiting Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire.
We had an amazing afternoon tea at this restaurant, the food was fantastic. The only downside was that there were more cakes and sweet treats than sandwiches. However, overall it was a great experience. Additionally, they have an old-fashioned sweet shop as well.
