Rancho Las Palmas - Escondido

I visited this restaurant with my wife and her service dog on a Saturday. I ordered the Carne Asada Combination plate, but what I received was disappointing. The plate consisted of five small, wafer-thin slices of cold rancheros steak that were left uncut. The refried beans were decent, but the rice was dry. When I mentioned the cold asada, the staff offered to put it back on the grill, even after I had already eaten from it. They also informed me that I couldn't choose a different dish if I was unhappy with my meal. Additionally, the store-bought chips and jarred salsa were not appealing. While the tables were equipped with salt, I had to request pepper, which came in packets. All of this for $15.99? The atmosphere was lacking as well. I don’t think I’ll be returning, and I just hope we don’t end up getting sick. It’s no surprise that the place was eerily quiet for a Saturday at 2 PM.

Service was great but the quality of food was unfortunately not. They do not devein their shrimp and the carne asada was a bit old.

First time here. Ordered a veggie burrito which was super tasty and healthy (as burritos go). Salsa was great. Decent amount of heat, which I like, without overpowering. Nice chipotle salsa, as well, which was much hotter. Good chips, too. Not all greasy. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely coming back!

First time visiting, second time eating their food. The food was great! The restaurant is very clean. Prices are competitive. Waiting on their liquor license, once they have it, they will be a great addition to San Marcos. Rancho Las Palmas was previously in Escondido for about 10 years. Their price is reasonable, the workers are friendly, and the food is delicious. Their menu was fairly standard, nothing too crazy
