Joey Nova's - EXCELSIOR

It cheats me to write this review because Joey Nova used to be one of my favorite pizza spots. But they went downhill. We ordered the deluxe and when we open the box what we saw can only be interpreted loosely as pizza. Instead of a traditional style NY Pizza we were used to it, we were greeted with one of the thinnest floppiest pizzas I have ever seen with hardly any blows and cheese. We ordered by Joey many times before and recommended them to friends, and that was extremely disappointing.

Amazing food and great staff! I came here with my important other for a causal dining experience, and that was exactly what we got. When you enter, order and pay at a counter. You have a large menu on the wall with everything you could ever want. The articles can be a little expensive, but nothing crazy. You can then sit at one of their stands or tables, and they will bring you your food. The food tasted like authentic New York food, and the spiced fries were probably the best fries I ever had. The portion sizes are huge, so? ll definitely more for later (a total plus). I recommend coming here if you love Italian, want to long pizza or just try something new!

One of the best pizza places in the city. The buffalo chicken pizza is my favorite. You can have a pop, a huge salad and probably most of the pizza you've ever seen for $12. The pizza slice is bigger than your head cloth. Great place, highly recommended

Simply the best pizza around town from Mound to Minnetonka. We have our pizza Fridays and this is our go to place. The staff is friendly and makes sure you have been helped when waiting inside. It's refreshing to see people actually working and for there to be many employees. I'm glad that people actually work at this establishment and that there seem to be plenty, which is not usually the case these days. I make sure to leave a nice tip as they all deserve it!! I will definitely recommend them to anyone for pizza and all the other foods they serve. Thank you very much!!

I want to rate higher, but one flaw held me back. the good: price point, the re-crisp up for slices, the size of slices, the white was perfect--crisp crust, light, airy. The pepperoni was greasy, but that comes with the topping. The flaw: from 1/2 way up the pepperoni slice to just before the crust, in the center/fold point of the slice, the top half (closer to the sauce,cheese,topping) was doughy. I'm talking squish between your fingers undercooked. That bottom 3rd of the slice was perfect, But higher up that dough flavor started to come through and that's when I noticed that it was actually the top layer of the dough itself. Maybe it was just a lunch rush? I will definitely give it another chance. EDIT 11/17/21: Full Extra Large 1/2 Pepperoni, a slice of white, 2 chocolate cannoli's and it was all excellent! If there were a systematic problem with the crust then this giant pizza wouldn't have made it and yet it was bendy but crisp all the way from center to edge. Perfect! Upped my score.
