We were passing through and decided to stop in for brunch at this family restaurant with a diner-style vibe. While the restaurant appeared a bit worn out, the food was tasty, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. Even though Eggs Benedict wasn't on the breakfast menu, it was the special for $13.95. The breakfast offerings seemed to be the best bang for your buck. This special had also been offered the previous summer, with only a small price increase. The eggs were poached perfectly on English muffins, the peameal bacon was plentiful, and the Hollandaise sauce had a nice touch of lemon, although the home fries could have been hotter. The dish was nicely presented with paprika, pineapple, and watermelon slices. The service was attentive and helpful.
The restaurant handled Covid precautions well, with contact information taken and tables spaced. We were seated near Ernie, who was wearing a mask and sitting in a booster chair. Melissa provided excellent service, making infrequent but efficient visits. We couldn't decide between breakfast or lunch, but opted for breakfast due to the generous portions. I ordered the "Canada eh?" breakfast, which was huge with 2 eggs, 2 Peameal bacon, an English muffin, home fries, and French toast with maple syrup. It was elegantly presented with whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberries, as well as watermelon and cantaloupe. My husband had the Denver Omelet, which was also a large serving. The prices were reasonable, with Eggs Benedict being a special for $12.95. Overall, it was a pleasant experience on our way home from the cottage country.
I've shared the club sandwich many times with a friend. Comes with French fries or salad. Lots to eat
Restaurant closed for Reno’s. Rather disappointing that Google wasn’t up to date with the information.
