Best street tacos! Carne asada or adobada tacos. Bold flavor. Window service, take out style. But they do have a designated covered patio area with picnic style tables. Affordable and worth the trip to fallbrook. Kind of a hidden gem, their located on the side of a liquor store, on mission and old stage road, right hand side if traveling north on mission coming from the direction of the 76 highway). Family ran. Mom and pop shop for sure. I Always make a point to stop by before leaving town, when visiting, to show support and eat great Mexican food. Tacos aren't the only option, they have traditional Mexican style plates. Sopas, pollo, carnitas, carne, rolled tacos, burritos, al pastor, lingua, beans and Mexican rice. Killer green sauce! Yum ?
Every time I'm there the food is fantastic, and the portions are very generous!!! I highly recommend the carne asada quesadilla and burrito.
Village Taco Real Mexican Food is absolutely real Mexican but that doesn't mean it is delicious. My client has an office across the street from this literal hole in the wall and has told me for years they have the best Tacos in town and they very well may but keep in mind this is Fallbrook, California so that bar isn't exactly set to a discerning standard. I was suspicious from the jump as the restaurant is really just a food service window on the side of a bootleg looking bodega off the main street as you come into town. Cash only? Naturally. Well, that much is authentic. This spot had my food safety radar going off like a check engine light in a Range Rover so I said I had a large breakfast and asked for a single Carne Asada Taco to sample to which my client mercifully obliged. Within 5 minutes two paper plates with our combined order appeared and we found a shady spot at the provided rickety tables near the food window to try the best Taco in Fallbrook. ...and San Diego has no worries about Taco related competition from the north county desert area...A pair of relatively stale mass produced Corn Tortillas are loaded up with charred to the point of burnt Carne Asada meat and Sysco Systems grade chopped Onion and Cilantro. I slathered the rather dry Beef with their delicious Salsa Verde which greatly improved things in both the flavor and mouthfeel departments and was really the only salvation for this miserable specimen of a Taco. All of this can be yours for $3.50 per. This wasn't the worst Taco I have ever had. In fact, it is pretty damn far from it. That said, I can never return to Village Taco Real Mexican Food again and be perfectly okay with it. Oh, and no I didn't get sick.
Walk-up window to order and shares parking lot out front with the liquor store but has its own closed off eating area.Only waited 10min for food:•(4) Carne asada tacos were really good, fiancé got an order of rolled tacos with rice and beans on the side, he liked it but LOVED the rice the most.Friendly service. Price was very reasonable(about $20)
