Fern Tree Hotel

My wife and I visited with another couple for lunch on a Friday. Although we had booked in advance, this was not necessary as there were only a few other people in the restaurant.We ordered two porterhouse steaks, crumbed scallops and flathead. Both steaks, although tasty, were slightly over-cooked and fairly small and at $32 did not represent good value. The scallops were average and the flathead was good value at $22.A guy at a nearby table had a schnitzel and it was HUGE. He said it was tasty too.

A basic hotel but an ideal spot for a well earned snack or drink having walked down Mount Wellington. Quite remote from the rest of Hobart - most unlikely to visit unless you hiking in the Mount Wellington area

A great place to sit and eat a counter meal in the restaurant after a wander around Mount Wellington. Alternatively, grab a few friends and have a game of pool and watch the footy.

Great meals at great prices, stop in on your way up or down the mountain or if you are a local drop in for a great meal at a great price.

Had a great steak last Friday night in front of the lovely warm fire. They also offer cheaper kids meals which is great for families.
