The Owls Nest - Ferndown

Isn't it wonderful to find a pub that isn't part of a chain? Who wouldn't love that! This place is a true gem in West Parley and Ferndown! The food and drinks are delicious and offered at very reasonable prices. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you'll never leave hungry! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a friendly vibe and no issues. They also host various events, including live music nights, perfect for those who enjoy singing and dancing! The owners and staff are fantastic too! This is our favorite local pub, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Richard and Jackie, along with their staff, operate a wonderfully welcoming pub. Customer service is their top priority, and they will do everything they can to accommodate you! The food is homemade and delicious, offering a range of hearty meals as well as light, tasty snacks. You'll also find a great selection of ales, many of which are locally brewed, making it a perfect spot for beer enthusiasts. The clientele is mostly local and very friendly, especially if you're accompanied by a dog! Occasionally, there’s entertainment of various kinds, from rock bands to Morris dancers, and you can enjoy darts on Friday nights. Overall, I have no complaints about this local pub—it's a fantastic place to stop by or to spend a lovely evening. You won’t be disappointed!

The atmosphere was enjoyable. However, the menu was limited during our visit, which likely indicates its popularity! Some of the ingredients used were quite unusual. I was really looking forward to the homemade rice pudding, but it was overly spiced with nutmeg.

1st visit here. Very nice homely. Food yummy. Will be back.

This is one of our favourite local pubs. What we call a proper pub, always well-kept beers and quality homemade food. Good atmosphere and genuinely friendly owners.
