I highly recommend Wings Wednesday at The Rule. The wings are great and the prices are incredible. I was especially pleased with the service from James, who was delightful and extremely helpful in getting us the best deals. I come here every week!

A group of 8 of us stopped by for drinks on Saturday, February 10th. We sat at two separate tables of 4 right next to each other and were enjoying ourselves. However, just after purchasing 8 more drinks, one of the staff members put a reserved sign on one of our tables for 7pm, which was only 15 minutes away from when it was put. Despite us expressing our disappointment to two different staff members, they did not provide a satisfactory response. We ended up finishing our drinks and leaving. Two people then sat at the reserved table, resulting in the restaurant losing the business of 8 customers. It was unreasonable to give such short notice about the reservation.

Stopped in for lunch while shopping in St Andrews. First impression was the menu that was sticky and stuck together at our table. My partner had the mac and cheese and i ordered the first choice of burger on the menu. I couldn't order the beer i selected on the drink deal that accompanies the burger as they don't stock it. When i asked why it was on the menu as a selection i was told that it's only available down south in England. Brewdog pale ale is Scottish brewed! I ordered a flat white instead. Our food came out extremely quickly and it was obvious that my burger was not cooked to order as it had dried out around the edges and was lukewarm in the centre, either re-heated or held in a hot hold. The fries and mac and cheese were also lukewarm. I would have said to the staff but nobody came to check back and see if everything was ok. As we ate the supervisor was shouting over to a staff member attending to a tv screen. I felt she could have walked over and spoke to him rather than shout. All in all a poor experience and frankly we wouldn't have eaten if we weren't so hungry. I'm afraid we will not be back.

We stayed in St Andrews for two nights between Christmas and New Year, both nights we eat at The Rule. The food was excellent, great choice, the atmosphere in the premises was great. But the staff made it exceptional, everyone of them were lovely, friendly and made you feel special. They knew what you drank before approaching the bar. They helped you out when needed. I am glad we found this pub/restaurant because they made our stay in St Andrews enjoyable. Thank you staff for making our St Andrews trip memorable. To the girls, you always had a smile on your face. You all deserve a big bonus.
