Zapata Mexican Cocina - Fitchburg

Great taste, representation and amazing balance! I love this place and I'm officially obsessed. It is authentic Mexican with a call for modernization. Amazing! Keep the great work! I will recommend this place to everyone!

We 've dined at Zapata twice now and both times we 've been floored by the quality and presentation of our meals. There are plenty of reasons to enjoy a good family style Mexican restaurant, but Zapata is Mexican Cuisine: traditional dishes prepared by trained chefs and presented in a more formal style... but at a reasonable price and a relaxed atmosphere. Zapata would be more popular to walk-ins if it had a liquor license (Lilly said they are working on one) but you can bring your own wine/beer if that 's important to you. Highly, highly recommended.

This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The atmosphere is great, the food is incredible, and the staff is all very professional and friendly. Prices are somewhat high compared to other local restaurants, but you pay for a high quality Mexican meal that you are pressed hard to find anywhere in the area. Zapata Mexican Cocina is a great place for a date night or a small meeting of friends (the restaurant is not very big, so I would not recommend more than 4 or 5 people). My favourite items on their menu should be the Horchata (Trink), and the Carne Asada (the roasted corn is also great and holds a special place in my heart). You also have a really good green salsa if you ask for it. This is just one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

My wife and I made this our top local restaurant the first time we ate there the week they opened. Michel and staff serve up perfectly prepared and presented dishes that you would expect from a Boston or Providence restaurant. I think we have tried every item on the menu at least once, and the quality and variety are always superb. We recently stopped in for their Valentines Day tasting, and sat in front of the kitchen watching them serve up one tasty course after another. Yup, I have to say, we are regulars!
