We arrived on time, ordered some drinks and then quickly decided to go for the...feed me menu. Now you think the Restuarant would love this, for a hours sitting they can plan ahead and make sure we get out in time for the next sitting to come through. Less fuss and far less work for the wait staff. Instead it took ages between dishes (they even apologized for the delay at one point), we had to try catch their attention to order another drink and with left and dishes still to go we got told that they were “very sorry” but our dessert was now coming out in and we had to leave asap. Previously we had to work so hard to catch the waitress’s attention, now she was coming over every minutes reminding us that we had to leave is T- however many minutes. It put a really dampener on the night and ruined the celebration. I would not recommend. Over priced and poor service
First time at It has a wow factor from the time you get inside till you're finished. Don't be fooled by the old pub exterior. Very attentive helpful staff. We had dinner the food was excellent. I highly recommend the spicy endamame....We had karage chicken, Angus steak, serves of the tempura, ichi ni roll, pork goyoza and tuna maki. We also had the reckon chips but wouldn't get them again. There were of us and the food filled us. We didn't think it expensive for what we got With a couple of drinks it was only each. There was a good crowd and pleasant atmosphere. Worth a try
Great little restaurant in Brunswick St. We enjoyed most of the dishes we ordered , some are an acquired taste
A rainy Melbourne evening and we were seated on the rooftop but warm and dry. The atmosphere was vibrant and staff friendly however food was fairly good but not outstanding. Three Japanese beers on tap was a treat but the beer was not really cold....Starters of vegan gyoza and nasi dengaku were both good, aburi carpaccio very good, agadashi tofu plentiful but tasteless, tempura prawns got lost and had to be remade , turning up after we had finished. Sashimi of tuna, kingfish and flying fish roe was excellent but all the fish dishes were very expensive for the quantity
Very cool Japanese Street bar atmosphere , food was great , loved the rolls and the duck puffs. We wished that we had room for dessert , they sounded great, not many Japanese restaurants even have a dessert menu. Cocktails were excellent, and wine list...had a good selection. Staff were excellent ,happy to advise if they thought things were too hot for us. Next time we will ask to sit in the covered garden
