Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Folsom

I like the ribs. They have several sauces to choose from and even free ice cream cones for a treat. The brisket is always juicy and they have good side dishes. Portions could be a bit larger for the prices.

We came here because of a buy one get one coupon in Folsom Style magazine. My husband and I had combo meat plates with brisket and pulled pork. They were both pretty solid bbq. We also enjoyed their spicy bbq sauce which went really well with the meats. Oh and you also get a free vanilla soft serve cone with your meal. Kinda pricey over all, but you do get a lot of food.

The service has been outstanding, largely thanks to the young man who handles the meat cutting and preparation. He’s been there for a while and approaches his job like a true chef, rather than just an average fast food worker. He is thorough and efficient, frequently going above and beyond his duties. During one visit, when they were short-staffed due to someone not showing up for work, he and another staff member stepped up to ensure the quality and service remained exceptional. Of course, the food is phenomenal, especially considering it's a chain/franchise. I’ve met the owner a couple of times, which helps explain why this location has such good staff and maintains high-quality food, even in his absence. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The two young ladies working behind the counter during my visit were incredibly friendly! The BBQ I tried was delicious and perfectly tender. I can't comment on the sides since I didn't taste any. If you're going for the first time, I recommend checking out the menu online beforehand, as the variety of combinations and sides can be a bit overwhelming when you look at the board (it's a cafe-style counter service). I also had some trouble finding the place with Google Maps; it's tucked away in the Walmart parking lot across from Kohl's, and not easily visible from the street.

The BBQ and sides here are absolutely delicious. Be prepared for a wait, especially on Fridays around noon. The portion sizes are generous. The menu includes excellent pulled pork, spicy cheddar sausage, brisket, chopped brisket, ribs, and a variety of other meats. You can also enjoy waffle-cut fries, fried okra, creamy cheddar spinach, two types of beans, salad, potato salad, baked potatoes, and more. For dessert, they offer free vanilla ice cream cones. The prices are reasonable, but not inexpensive.
