Turkey sandwich pretty good with spicy Carlsalaw. Love the Carolina sauce. Always order to go, but place looks pretty clean

I had my daughters 1st birthday event and Hickory Sticks catered for us. I must say they did an amazing job. Not only was the food spectacular, the staff was amazing. I didn?t have to worry about anything when it came to the food. Everyone in my party loved the food, especially the brisket. Thank you Hickory Sticks for a well job done.

However, I must be honest: the food quality is inconsistent and needs to improve, especially the baked beans. The green beans and mac and cheese are always good, but they require a cook-to-order approach. A new young man was working the register and packing orders; he charged me an extra $2-$3 for a slice of bread. I ask for bread every time I visit since my family and I prefer toast over cornbread. I believe it should be offered as an option, but today, this new employee insisted on an additional charge. The cook/manager did try to provide some reassurance. I will continue to visit Hickory Sticks and hope to see it return to a 5-star level.

Evaluating barbecue can be challenging, as everyone has their own tastes and preferred styles, not to mention the regional variations. However, Hickory Sticks won't let you down; we found their Pulled Pork Sandwich to be enjoyable—not outstanding, but certainly good. It's clear that a lot of effort and passion has gone into Hickory Sticks, making it worth a visit so you can experience it for yourself. The staff is very friendly, too.

I visited the restaurant around 8:30 PM and ordered their take on a Cuban sandwich to go. Unfortunately, the meat was disappointing. It was dry and tough, as if it had been sitting out for five hours. I understand that BBQ has a limited shelf life, but if you're open late, it's important to prepare fresh meat throughout the day. It's a shame because I had heard good things about this place.
