Matchbox - Fort Lauderdale

The atmosphere was nice, and the service was satisfactory. I ordered a salad as an appetizer, but instead, they brought me a duck dish. The crispy chicken sandwich was tasty, although the claw upstairs was quite bland. I removed the duck, and the crispy chicken sandwich was good. I requested a Caesar salad, but they brought me a garden salad instead.

We enjoyed sitting outside at the restaurant. The waiter was very attentive and prepared a lovely blackberry margarita that was delightful. However, I would recommend skipping the hot, hot pizza. It doesn't match its description and ended up tasting more like boiled peppers than anything else; there was nothing chipotle about it.

The food and service were excellent. Our waiter, Paulie, was outstanding! The restaurant is very clean, beautifully lit, and perfect for enjoying family gatherings, especially for a birthday celebration. I’m sorry to dock a star, but I just learned that our waiter charged $9 for the piece of birthday cake you see in the photo. In the past, at this restaurant and others we’ve visited, they typically offer it for free. However, it was delicious!

Before I buy a little, I stayed in Matchbox for a happy hour. The experience was not as pleasant as expected. I expected to get faster services by sitting at the bar and the result was not a service. The experience made a turn in the right direction after expressing my concern about the lack of service for the manager. We were taken to another section and the service was excellent. The food was well prepared and the drinks were refreshing, unfortunately I discovered a fruit fly in my drink. All in all, I'll try.

Very nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. I strongly recommend a reservation because they can get busy very fast, which is usually a good sign. I went for brunch but didn?t actually get brunch. Of course they have mimosas on the brunch menu. They have really good appetizers so I got the artichoke dip and the mini burger sliders. No regrets there as they were full of flavor. Also got there Margarita Pizza, which was perfect. It was not too oily and the cheese was flavorful. Not too bitter nor tart. They have lots of options so I?ll definitely be back to experiment with the menu.
