I'd recommend arriving early if you plan to sleep here because it's a quiet but popular place to stay the night. Stick up on food orsnacks here because there's not much in any direction for a few hours!
Avoid if you have RV. Hard to maneuver in lot, cars darting around us. No room to turn. Big pretty propane tank, but of course that was no employee to pump it at 11:30 am Monday. Avoid this place. And gas pump rejected my perfectly good Visa, necessitating ANOTHER trip into store. Wasted a half hour of my life here.
Can Flying J explain why I was charged $7.50 for three chicken tenders? The night shift employee seemed suspicious. There's a small sign stating that seven pieces are $8 something, and when I inquired, he said the prices have changed. I bought the same thing at a different location for much less. Drivers, be cautious about what you're paying for!
If you can, I would recommend avoiding this place at night if you need a shower. A worker named Melissa canceled all the showers, claiming that there was no one available to wash them. After she turned everyone away, except for me—who she didn’t notice—she brought a young white man to the back for his shower, while another young man emerged from a shower. I'm not one to usually focus on issues of racism, but the Black and Mexican men in line were all turned away, including me as a Black woman. Regardless of race, we are all truckers and need our showers after a long, demanding day on the road. I will not be returning.
This is one of the best stops I've found out on the open road, and it's the first place I've come across that has a Tesla charging station.
