(They got gyros now (which I don't suggest despite lamb being tasty) Chicken souvlaki wrap is BOMB when you feel iffy and don't want Osmow's next door as its light but filling. Their soups are great, namely potato bacon. They now have an outdoor patio, which never happened before so wonderful staff will tend to your needs; just wait until Stage 3 when billiards/golf is on.
Owner treats staff poorly. And the staff are Rude to customers. Nachos were burnt and most of the stuff they will not make from the menu. Won't be back
A bunch of us scientists are here in Scarborough for a conference and decided to check out this place for some food and drinks. Before the night ends, we were given the check and someone wrote gays as the customer name in the receipt. Totally unacceptable. We confronted the server and she act like she doesn 't know who wrote it. Avoid this place. Unacceptable and homophobic.
Pros: cheap food and drinks Cons: Tired and dirty atmosphere. food is average quality for what you pay very, very slow and indifferent service...most of the times the waitresses and bartenders seem to be talking with friends and ignoring customers. very loud music...especially on karaoke nights low standards attracts a sketchy clientele. The Fossil and Haggis used to be a decent place when it first opened. I live around the corner and used to go fairly regularly for wings and a pint. In the last several years the overall quality of food, service and cleanliness has declined. It's gone from a nice British pub to an unwelcoming dive bar. Unfortunately there arent many other options in this area. Best bet is to get some takeout chicken from the Popeyes next door and drink at home.
Came to the Fossil Haggis Pub as the boyfriend and friends love to hang out at this local joint. Tonight was Karaoke Tuesday. I was a little excited, and eventually got one of the other girls drunk enough and we did our rendition of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun... it was fun! Free wi-fi is a plus in case you're not really the drinking/playing pool type of person or if you're just plain anti-social, haha. Food is fairly priced and service is pretty decent. Their onion rings are quite tasty. Has just the right amount of seasoning and the batter isn't too oily. The fries, as I stated in my last review, are a bit on the soggy side and drenched in oil, but that's to be expected at a pub. All in all, a great environment to have fun at!
