Calmes' Pub - Freedom

Not in service!! The ordered house wines, but we were overloaded as they had to give us 'upper end' wine. Not about the real money because it was $8 against $6. (Yes, we can afford $8 wine, but this is a bar/pub! Bartender was completely rude and basically said too bad... They had the $8 wine and went away! I would have been good for the next time with a drink chip! No excuse for this customer service. I hope he's not the owner or bar manager.

Monday, 26. September, approx. 310, not many people in the bar. We wanted to eat. One of the two welcomed us on foot. We sat at the bar, about 10 feet from the two female bartenders. One on her phone shows the other bartender a little scrolling and chatting. We finally thought we'd give them a minute. One who looked at the other phone had a drink in her hand and saw us and back on the phone. What looked like they dropped the phone, turned around and started on their phone again. We went out.

I must start this review with I ABSOLUTELY love this place for the environment and the staff. The drinks are well made, never a complaint when they know how to make an excellent long island, the only complaint I had was the food. I ordered the roasted chicken and then the steak the last time I was there. While the wings and pizzas are amazing and really something to order. The roasted chicken bread is amazing only needs salt, spices and less oil. Steak was cooked for perfection. While it could still use a little spice as it was cooked for perfection was a treat. I'm going to say I'd pay $30 for a steak, I'd almost expect a little bit of light spicing. I hope the new owners will read this review and the menu to make these dishes great! Also, yell at our waitress Jamie! It is a treat (especially to deal with a slight swallowing of my father, which she brought him to his place immediately and respectfully. If you know anything about our family, you would know is an amazing quality to have in a waitress! We look forward to going back there and seeing what the new owners do to improve the place!

The food is always quite good, the service is somehow slow, so if you are in a hurry not a good place, but I think there are also new people training. Last night. We had a drink right away and the service was gone... We went and paid for our drinks and went, we wanted to eat there, but gave it up. You just don't have enough people to run the house. Also new menu with higher prices. Change from 4 stars to 2. Great disappointment.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Pub 55 and rented the outdoor Wild Duck room/area the experience was far beyond our expectations our servers were wonderful and as one of our guests commented, It was the best rehearsal dinner they 've ever been to. The casual, fun, relaxing atmosphere with great food and wonderful servers deserve all the credit. Thank you again!! We could not appreciate it more!!
