Strummer's - Fresno

This restaurant, located in the trendy Tower District of Fresno, was the first club in the area to offer vegan options. They have an array of unique dishes, including soy chicken tacos, Italian wurstburgers, western bacon burgers, Thai tacos, and various Impossible Burger versions. The atmosphere is fun and festive, and the food is simply mouthwatering—something you won't find anywhere else. Be sure to check out specialties like the Southern fried chicken bowl and mac and cheese balls. Plus, you can veganize the entire menu!

The restaurant is only open in the evening when they have drink offerings. I ordered the vegan taquitos, and while I enjoyed them, it took an incredibly long time for my order to arrive, and my food was only lukewarm when it finally came. I really appreciate that they serve vegan food, but I believe they would attract many more customers if they opened during the day as a regular restaurant. Personally, the nighttime atmosphere, filled with people primarily there to drink, isn't my ideal setting for enjoying a meal. I commend them for their menu options, though.

Strummers is a fantastic spot for live performances. It's one of the few local venues that still hosts small shows in an intimate setting. Located in Tower, the atmosphere here is always lively and welcoming.

I only go to this venue when there's a performer I really love and can't see conveniently elsewhere. I attend shows regularly, but this is my least favorite place in Fresno. The security staff tends to have inflated egos and can be biased; it's clear that how you're treated often depends on their mood. I understand they're just doing their job, but they come off as disrespectful and predatory. Many of the staff seem unhappy, and while the drinks are cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. The main issue here is definitely the security team; a complete overhaul in that department would be beneficial. However, there is one mid-aged security guard with long hair, usually braided, who provides a respectful experience. I wish I knew his name, but he truly stands out as one of the good ones, and his efforts don’t go unnoticed.

I attended the Latin trap night with high hopes, but I was really let down. The music was predominantly Bad Bunny and English songs, which was disappointing. Whenever I went to the bathroom, it felt like the staff kept coming in and staring at me. I also received a call from my babysitter and tried to take it in the hallway, but two staff members kept harassing me. One guy stood right behind me, as if trying to push me back into the club, while another stood beside me, just watching. I will never go back to this place!
