She informed us that it would take longer to prepare our meals because they were prioritizing the private party. Given that we were the only patrons in the restaurant at that time—just our party of four—it was surprising that they couldn't manage to handle both our order and the private event simultaneously. At that point, it became clear that our order had likely not even begun to be prepared, and we estimated it would be another 15 minutes before we'd receive anything. We decided to leave and find something to eat elsewhere. If they had offered us a complimentary appetizer as a gesture while we waited, we might have been more inclined to stay, but they didn't offer anything. As others have mentioned, they seemed overwhelmed by the private party. I hope the event turned out to be everything they hoped for, as it was obvious that their priority was not our table.
This restaurant has really declined. We've visited several times in the past and had great experiences, but this visit was disappointing. There were children screaming, the food was only mediocre, and surprisingly, there were very few customers for a Saturday night. At this rate, I doubt it will stay open for much longer. It's quite sad.
The food and service here are consistently excellent! I'm not sure why the place is so empty, though. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, they aren't outrageous. They really need to come up with a strategy to attract more customers. It's oddly quiet, almost to the point of being disheartening. I truly hope they find a way to fill the restaurant!
Absolutely ingenious eating. there were not many guests when we arrived, but eating was phenomenal. we will definitely visit here again. great service, fantastic ambiente and wonderful eating.
We used to be regulars at One2One but had not been for awhile. We were disappointed in the change. We went for Sunday brunch. There was no one at the hostess desk or in the cooking area. After waiting over five minutes, one of the customers at the only occupied table went to the kitchen to announce us. The banquette seat at our table was dirty. There was a sconce light out. Everything seemed in need of maintenance. The service was poor, even after asking for extra syrup and tea refills. We waited a long time for our food, which was not as described on the menu. The beignets a la Cafe du Monde were not anything like beignets; they were fried tortilla strips. I ordered the lobster eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce and breakfast potatoes. There was no hollandaise sauce at all. I can't eat spicy food, so I assumed the eggs would be OK, but they were so spicy, I could hardly eat them. My husband's chicken, waffles, and eggs were also spicy. Not matter the menu description, it seemed like everything was Mexican cuisine. We're sorry that one of our favorite restaurants has deteriorated so much.
