That was officially my first Yatai experience. I have an hour research online, about which yatai shop I should visit, so I found informations about yatai mamichan very popular among foreigners and tourists. it seems very promising, instead of going to a random Yatai stand without knowing anything about it. So I decided to go there with my friend who lives in fukuoka. Mami-chan is an incredibly friendly owner, as well as her great cooks. So if you decide to eat in this Yatai Stock, it is guaranteed that they are a tasty bite. Once they sit, they get a free grilled chicken wing, freshly made by Mommy-chan. of course it is absolutely delicious. we also had gyoza and fried rice. it was cool to watch Mommy-chan made gyoza from scratch and they were perfectly grilled. also baked rice was very delicious. Before we pay our food bill, Mami-chan even gave us a discount because I was out of town. but that was unnecessary because the food price at this place was already reasonable! my Fukuoka friend who went with me also seems to enjoy the entertaining atmosphere in this yatai and we met friendly people who feed next to us. for me it was very relaxing, fun eating and drinking together with friendly strangers. I'll never forget what I had on this place. it feels like I went to someone's house and they treat me like family, feed me amazing home cooked meal. the best yatai in fukuoka, hands down.
Not the easiest place to find and its misleadingly named ramen restaurant. Mami Chan is a fantastic host always welcoming and eagar to please with her cooking. the place only seats around a dozen people so it can be a bit cramped (tip 1 don't come with your shopping and there can be a bit of a wait but the food is worth it and the other eaters are super friendly (the gentleman next to us offered a bite of his uneaten yakisoba while we were waiting for our dish! . it's amazing what mami-chan and her partner can do in such a small place. tip 2 order things one dish at a time. finish what you have in front of you then order again it's not a sprint (we made the mistake of ordering everything at the same time . when we finished mami-chan even came out to bid us good bye and give us a hug. you really can't beat hospitality like that.
Best yatai in Hakata!!! We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the food tasted absolutely delicious
This was a definitiw one of the best experiences of my month-long adventure by japan. the yatai culture in fukuoka is sensational and I have stood at the end of beer, tasty eating and laughing with natives on this fantastic. I also need to make a photo with mamichan myself! it's amazing to see how much is happening behind this little stall. I enjoyed the ochsenzunge and some of the best noodles I've ever had. the atmosphere is incredible, one must!
