Hot Breads Bakery And Cafe

The cake was very disappointing. We ordered a pineapple pastry, but it didn't have any pineapple flavor—it just tasted like a plain vanilla cake. The same goes for the Black Forest cake; it was far below the standard we expect from other Hot Bread locations. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

I ordered a butterscotch cake for a birthday celebration, but what I received was more like a plain vanilla cake, and it wasn't very soft. The hot bread cakes are good; I bought them previously at a different location, so it seems the issue is specific to this location.

For clarification, this place doubles as an Indian restaurant and as a vegan bakery. The bakery is a lovely storefront with a variety of treats on display. The space is clean, inviting, and well lit. I believe (although I?m not 100% sure that the Indian food is just for take-away; note: they do have some casual outdoor seating) I picked up a vegan Black Forest cake and they were able to personalize it on the spot.
