Tortuga Mexican Kitchen - Galveston

We had an incredible experience! Our waiter, who mentioned he has been in the industry for 15 years, took excellent care of our party of 17. The food was fantastic and served fresh!

I love this place! The chips and salsa are AHHHMAZING! They also have a great mixed drink! *see pic* then get ya one! The atmosphere is awesome and the food is even better! Staff is very friendly and attentive. I will be coming back every time I'm in the area.

Visited Tortuga on Easter Sunday. We chose to sit on their patio, which has a lovely view of the Gulf. It's separated by the highway and highway noise, but still nice and shaded. The tables were not in great repair, but I guess that is the price of a restaurant in the salt air. Service was good. Food was tasty, if unremarkable. They offer margarita flights, which were adorable and delicious. My husband really liked the prickly pear, but my favorite was the house lime. Tortuga is a good spot for Mexican classics. We would visit again..

Been here twice now. The first time was during lunch rush and the waitress didn't know I was seated at her table and ended up doubling my order (they took off the second meal when I sent it back) the second time went a lot smoother, I was seated after a minute and served chips/salsa and drink right away, and the waiter made and excellent suggestion for the lunch menu. Chips and salsa are both served warm, no seasoning on the chips but it doesn't need it, salsa is top notch! First meal was the fajita tacos, they were a little dry, wish I would have ordered the grilled ones but the guacamole was really good. Rice was a bit oily but good, Charo beans had a nice smoky flavor Second meal was the chicken quesodilla with a bowl of soup. Both were excellent!

This was the bext Mexican restaurant I've ever been to!! I'm not always easy to impress, but I was in shock the moment they bought out our stuffed jalapeno appetizer. I knew it was going to be good from there. The staff is super amazing and friendly, I could've just stayed and ate and visited. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area. It was also very well prices, we got quite a lot of food (extra to go because it was so good, in fact) and it was about $60 for two people.
