Írjon visszajelzéstAbsolutely horrible experience here this evening. Party of 3 of us arrived in looking for a few pints. Complete with covid vaccine certs for each person, all sober and not causing any problem at all; staff member checked the 3 certs on entry; no problem there as we were all carrying certs and fully vaccinated; one comes up on the reader as invalid, one comes up as OK after being scanned 3 times, the other cert the reader wouldn 't read the QR code at all. Despite it being quite apparent that their covid cert reader clearly wasn 't working, or perhaps more likely that it was not being operated properly (we had already been in 2 other places the same day and the 3 certs were validated without a problem) and despite us offering our HSE record cards and photo IDs, the staff member unapologetically and bluntly refused to serve us. She even went as far as to question the validity of the date on the record card I presented. I mean I 'd want to really, REALLY be desperate for drink if I was to go so far as to create a fake cert and record card When she was asked to get a manager, she walked away and hid behind the bar with her gormless colleagues staring at us with suspicion and contempt. We walked out the door in disgust, and when we stepped outside the door, the staff member reappeared. I asked her if it was her business ' policy was to degrade and humiliate their customers, as it was obvious that they didn 't want our business. She then said that there was no manager on duty and started to become emotional; saying I am trying to hold down a job, they are my instructions, I cannot go against them, there 's no manager here and I 'm not earning enough to be dealing with this sh*t What could I say to that...? I had to walk away... What an absolute sh*t show of a place. A Saturday night in one of the busiest cities in Ireland, and you have a staff member who clearly is on the brink of an emotional meltdown, a manager who allows his/her business to manage itself and allow staff to navigate their own way through difficulties, and the staff working there clearly do not have adequate training or support; in what I would describe as a place with a horrendous atmosphere from the minute you walk in. Avoid this kip like you avoid Covid 19
A friend and I stayed here for two nights. The room was basic but pleasant and bright, however it got very cold at night and we found some clothes moths. We had a problem with the noise throughout the night/early hours of the morning, but to be fair it is a pub so we can't really complain. The location was excellent, just a stone's throw away from Eyer Square. All in all, a great place to stay but a few adjustments could make it even better : .
Hearty full Irish breakfast. Good prices friendly staff. Struggled to find decent breakfast early in a Friday morning.
In Galway for work, dropped in for lunch. Ordered the Irish Stew. What came out was a brown stew that had been microwaved or put under heat lamps to warm it up. It failed. The food was cold in places, I didn't complain, my fault. I didn't check the price as I saw it on the blackboard outside, €14 is a rob for reheated brown stew. I will not be back.
Called in for lunch . Food was cooked to perfection and lovely tasting . Chap behind the bar was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us . Loved the beer too , galway hooker . I had the philly steak which was cooked to my liking and very nice , my wife had the club sandwich with chips , she cleared her plate . Highly reccommend if you are in Galway .
