Shrimp Boat - Gastonia

The food lacks flavor and is fairly bland. There aren’t any sauces available to enhance the dishes served. Tartar sauce is not a suitable option for everything.

I visited Shrimp Boat for the first time a few days ago, and it was a pretty good experience. I ordered a combo plate that included fish, green shrimp, hush puppies, fries, and I added a devil crab. The shrimp was excellent, and I really enjoyed the hush puppies too. The fish was okay, but it had a bit of a fishy smell that didn't quite sit right with me—though I am eight months pregnant, so that might be why. The sweet tea was delicious! Overall, I was satisfied with my meal, and I'm looking forward to returning to try their chicken that everyone has been raving about!

The food is absolutely delicious, making the trip from Charlotte well worth it. Just remember to bring cash; however, if you forget, there's an ATM available on site.

There is no chicken like the shrimp boat chicken you have the absolutely best fried chicken there is, period. I've been eating on the shrimp boat for 30 years and I've never had a bad meal. They make their own cocktail sauce and it is warm. If you like fried chicken, this place is a must.

Food is pretty good here. Had the fried chicken which was pretty tasty. Tried the hot wings also, good taste but not very spicy. If your looking for a fried meal this place is a good choice. Fast service and okay prices. Wife had chicken strips. They were nothing special just the frozen kind you can get in grocery stores.
