Best coffee we tried in St Petersburg (and I made it my mission to try a lot). As another reviewer said: it’s like St Kilda (Melbourne) in St Petersburg. Breakfast was great too we had the eggs with a couple of extras.

A Melbourne coffee house in St Petersburg? Sounds mad, right? Well these guys are mad, and they’re passionate about coffee, so they pulled it off brilliantly. A whole range of coffees, breakfasts and baked treats are all available in a cool decor setting. Highly recommended!

Ok, so the first thing to say about this place is that MAD ESPRESSO TEAM represent the industry of individual, non-network coffee shops (as opposed to all the famous network shops you know too well for me to mention). So keep that in mind when you plan a visit. All the good things. First of all, it 's one-in-city place, with the design you are unlikely to see anywhere else in St. Petersburg. It 's not the warm, green or wood-brown colours most coffee shops have: it has been done mostly in grey and white ceramic, with some yellowish lights to balance the cold colours out. Secondly, it 's comparatively cheap. Thirdly, they serve breakfast all day long. Last but not least, they make some decent coffee. Have to mention that they are located not far from the tourist areas, but far from the so-called noisy and overcrowded streets. Pleasant staff. The not so good things: parking may be an issue, but just like anywhere else in the city. Also, they have just four tables and four additional seats behind the bar, so the place may look rather packed during lunch hours. If you are interested in the downtown coffee scene, but have to visit it yet, you ought to feel guilty. Seriously, though, it 's a place with character and a damn good cup of coffee. Cheers
