Restaurant Laspezia Cafe - Gatineau

We visited this restaurant twice and had a positive experience both times. They offer a variety of creative pizzas and other dishes, including entrees like fried pickles. During our visit, I had a strange conversation with the waitress and the owner regarding their advertised '20 ounce' beers. When my beer arrived at the table, it was poured into a European glass known as a 'demi'. I pointed out that a 'demi' is equivalent to a half liter, which is a little less than 17 ounces. The owner mentioned that these were the glasses provided by the supplier, without offering to top up my drink or provide a larger glass. While this practice may be common for restaurants, I felt it was worth mentioning. The food was delicious, although the venue was not particularly impressive, it was still cozy and pleasant. They have a flat screen TV for game nights, and the washroom could benefit from some maintenance. Overall, the service was good.

I chose to walk to this restaurant because it's close to my neighborhood. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had booths, which I prefer. I sat in a booth by the window and ordered the chicken burger platter with fries and salad. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place. Overall, it was a great experience!

The food is really good! Very tasty and much better than any other fast food restaurant around! The first time I went there the service was great and very friendly, the second time I think the waitress might have just had a really bad day...

Just so casual, cozy, very decent food and GREAT fries... And the service is the best post Covid you can possibly find! Wish there were more little places like this in the Aylmer area.
