Subway - Gawler

It was clean but dinning in was interrupted by loud obnoxious young men in a booth thereNot a family feel.

During school holidays we travelled by train to Gawler, a town north of Adelaide, and my grandsons opted for lunch at the Subway Restaurant. They were happy to choose their own fillings on bread also chosen by them. It made for a very successful lunch, and when they were able to choose their chocolate milk drinks they were very happy boys. The Staff were patient enough when the choices needed time to be assessed by the young customers. The seating was quite comfortable for a quick lunch restaurant.

This is one of many subway agencies spread through out S.A. Is clean serves the standard menu as offered by subway. Good staff. Good turn around service time as aare all subways.

I had a voucher from the subway eat fresh club. It was buy a foot long or a 6 inch and get a foot long or a 6 inch free of equal or lesser value. You know the usual blurb. the only reason I was in subway as I got a voucher to use as I don't normally go to subway for dinner anyway. Everything was fine until I was at the til to use the voucher. There was a young guy making rolls he did a great job and it was tasty. But then there was an older man who just completely ignored us didn't even smile or say hi just kept cleaning. Then there was the older lady on the cashier. I'm guessing the young guys parents. They were European which is fine but I wondered afterwards because the lady had a hard time reading or making sense of the voucher. It was plainly buy one get one free. It should have cost us (as we got two foot longs )$11 something and we also got bottle sparkling water so add on another few $ - $15 then max. But no she got it up to $19. Tried explaining it to me her way. It was really hot night so we weren't understanding each other and her accent was strong however shouldn't have mattered. As it was buy one get one free. I can't even remember how she tried to get more money out of us we just got so confused and then she re did it as had forgotten the water but then it went up to $22. We should have just walked out but were hungry so gave in but we were made to look like fools and that she was right i was wrong. I can read and I can read a voucher. We were ripped off plain and simple. Not cool. And yeah I agree with the other review it's not parking accessible. Never going there again.

Always love to return to subway gawler. The owner is the nicest person. Always happy to see you and have a quick chat. Plus have discovered the veggie patty. Yum
