Pondok Nasi Bakar - Geelong

We had the Nasi Bakar and Grilled Chicken Rujak, Pecel Lele, Es Campur, Banana Fritters and Mega Mendung. The nasi bakar was tasty, although it was a bit hard to open. The staff offered to help me and gave me tips on how to open it, which I appreciated. The chicken was well cooked and the sauce was nice and not too spicy. The pecel lele was also good, especially the sambal as it was very spicy. The es campur was tasty, even though I couldn't finish it because of how big the serving sizes were. The banana fritters were good and the cheese, chocolate and banana went well together.

For you guys Indonesians who miss authentic Indonesian grilled (bakar) dishes, you should really try this place. The price was reasonable and worth it, especially for the grilled fish, only $14ish for a whole grilled fish. We also had their nasi bakar with grilled chicken and ribs and also banana fritters as dessert. Can’t wait for them to open a branch in Melbourne!

Great authentic Indonesian cuisine. We stopped by on the way back to Melbourne to try this new joint. It has only been opened for 7 weeks. <br/ <br/ We ordered 2 mains Grilled Rice with Grilled BBQ ribs and Grilled Rice with Chicken as well as 2 sides Perkedel (Fried Mashed Potatoes) as well as Sayur Asem (Vegetable Soup). The food were delicious. Only the Sayur Asem were lacking in flavour but the rest was a clear 5/5! Definitely one of my fav Indonesian food around... for those who loves chilli, do try the green chilli, it is super hot and definitely one for chilli lovers...<br/ <br/ Recommended for anyone in the area, but it is a little to far from Melbourne. We will definitely return if we are in Geelong or surrounding areas.

Must Try Restaurant in Geelong Delicious food and great view, what could we ask more? We had grilled beef ribs and grilled chicken with grilled rice anchovies takeaway for our picnic near Geelong waterfront, both of the dishes were delicious and flavourful. The grilled beef ribs in peanut sauce were very tender, the sambal was spicy and tasty, so yum... The grilled rice was delicious too, it’s taste like nasi uduk, slightly different than grilled rice that we used to have in Indonesia. However we still love them, the flavours and the way they wrapped the rice reminds us of home
