My wife and I always have a great time dining at La Ristra. My personal favorite dish is the green pork chile. On our recent visit, we decided to explore their selection of tequilas. The...
This was my first visit to the Gilbert location, and I found the service to be significantly better than at the Chandler branch. It's possible that the difference was because we went to Chandler as a group of eight during the busy weekday lunch rush. In contrast, we visited Gilbert on a Sunday around 3 PM. We were seated promptly upon arrival and our server attended to us just a minute or two later. The food came out quickly and was served hot. My cousin, who was visiting from New York and is a big fan of authentic Mexican cuisine, was very satisfied with both the service and the food.
I ordered the Arizona Sunset and the Ristra Relleno. The drink resembled a mocktail and lacked depth. The Relleno was only mediocre at best. Admittedly, as a vegetarian, I may not have chosen the best dishes at a Mexican restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this place for vegetarians.
We enjoyed some fantastic appetizers, especially the southwest egg rolls, which are even better here than at Chili's. The burritos are enormous and absolutely delicious—make sure to try them with the Christmas sauce! The wings are also excellent. The margarita flights offer generous pours in each glass. I really can't say anything negative about this place. Even when it's busy, the service is excellent.
